Derbys delight as Smit and Hosein seal new deals

EXPERIENCED batsman Daryn Smit and wicketkeeper Harvey Hosein have handed Derbyshire a double boost by signing new contracts.
Smit, who joins as a nonoverseas player despite having represented South Africa A, has played Lancashire League cricket in England for the past three seasons.
The 33-year-old has also played for the Dolphins in South Africa for the past 14 years, playing 125 first-class matches, scoring 5,711 runs at an average of 37.32. And while Smit joins the Division Two side, Hosein will remain at the club until the end of the 2019 season.
