There was good news at the ICC Annual Conference, above all the elevation of Afghanistan and Ireland to Test status. Only, this being the ICC, some altogether less cheering developments passed largely unnoticed.
Most egregiously, it now appears that the 93 remaining Associate nations have had their funding cut by $70 million compared to what they were promised earlier this year, because of a combination of India holding out for more cash, Afghanistan and Ireland getting more, and other existing Full Members protecting what they had too.
