IN RELATION to weakened teams being fielded against the tourists, the ideas of a composite team has merit.
A team from three counties (eg: Western Counties of Glamorgan, Gloucestershire and Somerset) could provide a meaningful match for player, tourists and spectators, especially members. With 18 counties, six regional teams could be formed. Also, there is a precedent as in 1970, I believe, a North and South of England were on the fixture itinerary for the cancelled South African tour.
