Cooper ‘won’t be a big loss’, says Maynard

FORMER Somerset director of cricket Matthew Maynard has delivered a parting shot to resigning CEO Lee Cooper, saying he “will not be a big loss” to the club.
Maynard departed as a result of a restructuring of the coaching set-up, orchestrated by Cooper on his arrival midway through last season, with Andy Hurry appointed as director of cricket and Jason Kerr promoted to a head Coach role.
Cooper, though, resigned from his position last week, saying he could no longer give the role the commitment it warranted.
