I HAD to smile when I saw Jimmy Adams’ knock for Hampshire against Cardiff MCCU this week.
Usually in pre-season matches against the Universities, it’s about getting valuable minutes at the crease, getting to 100 and then giving yourself about 20 balls to get to 200 before giving someone else a go!
Jimmy, though, was clearly on a mission. I don’t know if he had something to prove but his 182 not out in 242 balls looked to me that he was determined to make a point.
