WORCESTERSHIRE have been dealt a severe blow to their season as captain Joe Leach has been ruled out for the rest of 2018 with a stress fracture in his back.
The fast-medium bowler felt soreness in his back during the victory over Warwickshire in the One-Day Cup on June 7 and was only able to bowl four overs.
The loss will hit the Pears hard as Leach is their leading wicket-taker in the County Championship over the last three seasons, plus he’s in the top five wicket-takers in Division One this season, taking 23 at 22.08 runs apiece.
