Garton keeps Horsham in title hunt

HORSHAM skipper Michael Thornely says there’s nothing between the sides at the top of the Sussex Premier League after George Garton’s fine batting helped them to victory over Brighton & Hove.
Will Beer took 2-27 as Brighton managed just 168-7 from 35 overs before Horsham slipped to 73-6 in reply as Simon Hetherton ripped through their top order.
But Garton, right, wasn’t giving up the game without a fight and smashed eight fours and five sixes in an unbeaten 82-ball 87 to get Horsham over the line.
