SOUTH AFRICA coach Ottis Gibson expects fast bowler Dale Steyn to play a big part in his side’s World Cup bid despite being forced out of yesterday’s tournament opener against England with a shoulder injury.
Steyn, 35, has been dogged by the injury since undergoing surgery in 2016 and was forced to withdraw from the Indian Premier League last month.
It’s the latest setback to the Proteas’ preparations after fellow fast bowler Kagiso Rabada was also forced to leave the IPL early with a back problem and only sent down only seven warm-up overs before being ...
