RUGBY might have been his first love growing up, but competing against adults with bat and ball before his teenage years was a sign that Jack Carson was destined for a future in cricket.
The 19-year-old – who marked his first-class debut for Sussex this month with five wickets against Hampshire – grew up next to the boundary rope of Waringstown Cricket Club in County Down, and was in the nets almost as soon as he could walk.
