Monty still dreaming of county shot

EX-ENGLAND spinner Monty Panesar remains hopfeul of a return to first-class cricket, after making a fine impression during his first league outing for Twickenham.
The 39-year-old had featured for Essex-based Shenfield during the 2019 season but has now moved west to balance his on-field endeavours with an MA in Sports Journalism at St Mary’s University.
Despite taking 167 Test wickets in 50 matches for England, Panesar wrote to all 18 counties back in 2018 to offer his services to no avail, having left Northamptonshire two years earlier.
