WATCH the greats then copy them has been a mantra for every sporting wannabee down the years and Stuart Broad is indisputably one of the greats. But his tactic of bowling round the wicket to left-handers, as default rather than exception, has created an army of copycats in county cricket who may be missing a trick by following his lead.
Broad likes using the tactic because he has mostly lost the ability to shape the ball in to left-handers from over the wicket (away from the right-hander). So he goes round, as he did against New Zealand’s five lefties...
