Slow play is leaving fans short-changed

ENGLAND and India were docked 40 per cent of their match fee and two World Test Championship points this week after match referee Chris Broad clamped down on the slow play that seems to be a reoccurring theme in cricket.
For England, this is their second punishment for such an offence having also been fined 40 per cent of their match fee in the Lord’s Test versus New Zealand in June.
And now slow play is even creeping into The Hundred – the quickest format of the cricket calendar – leaving experts scratching their heads.
