FORMER Afghanistan coach Andy Moles is hopeful that the return to power of the Taliban will not threaten the future of cricket in the wartorn country.
Moles has twice played important roles in Afghanistan’s rapid rise from cricket rookies to Test nation, first as national coach and more recently as technical director, a job he left 15 months ago following financial cutbacks caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
