Devon Champions Sandford kicked off their 2024 campaign with a six-wicket win over Exmouth as the Devon Premier League season got underway with a string of low-scoring matches across the league.
Inserted by Sandford, Exmouth were bowled out for 125 in 37 overs. Bryon Knowles led the way with the ball for Sandford, taking 5-32 from nine overs.
Sandford chased down Exmouth’s total in the 29th over, Lawrence Walker making a patient unbeaten 37 from 61 balls as his side started their season with 20 points.
