Early upsets in Surrey Championship

The Surrey Championship got underway with two of last year’s top three starting their 2024 campaigns with a loss.
Last year’s runners-up Guildford lost to Reigate Priory by five wickets after being bowled out for 205. Veteran leg-spinner Michael Munday (4-54) and Angus Dahl (3-31) did the bulk of the damage but there were notable scores of 60 for Oli Soames and 61 for Aussie overseas player Jonathan Merlo.
Dahl followed up his three-for with 72 not out as Reigate got home with more than seven overs to spare.
