REGARDLESS OF the result of the Oval Test, this has been a good summer for England in the sport’s longest format.
Whether it has been a successful one for Test cricket as a whole remains in doubt.
West Indies and Sri Lanka have been predictably swept aside after arriving in England with little or no preparation time for one of cricket’s sternest tests.
