Surrey have won a third successive County Championship title after cruising to a 10-wicket win over Durham with a day to spare at The Oval.
They had to wait until the following day to be confirmed as champions, but Somerset failed to defeat Lancashire and put an end to the title race in the process.
Surrey are the first team since Yorkshire in the 1960s to win three titles in a row and a fourth under Burns in six years.
