SOMERSET kept their T20 Blast quarterfinal hopes alive with a comfortable seven- wicket win over Northamptonshire Steelbacks in Taunton. Chasing a modest 141 for victory, an unbroken stand of 65 between captain Tom Abell and young pretender Tom Lammonby saw the hosts home with two overs to spare as they leapfrogged Northants in the Central Group with one group match to play.
Somerset’s success was built on what captain Lewis Gregory called “the best T20 bowling display by the team I have been involved in this season”.
