Forgive me for stroking my beard as I write this but a “working” lifetime covering England cricket has taught me that when those running it use the word clarity, nine times out of ten it is instead the cue for confusion.
Clarity is what we have been told will be provided by them placing the England coach Chris Silverwood in sole charge of selection of the national teams.
