George revels in his new lease of life

GEORGE Parker was an opening pace bowler when he played youth cricket.
But at the age of 16, the Geddington man changed tack, reinventing himself as a leg spinner because he relished the challenge.
Ten years on and Parker claimed his best figures of the season with 6-63 as Geddington secured a 100- run victory over Oundle Town in the Northamptonshire League.
The 26-year-old is in his first season at the club after spells at Finedon, Rushton and Rothwell, and hopes his team’s first victory in six games can spur them on.
