Saj Mahmood's William Perkin’s Under 19 boys won the Middlesex Cup, defeating Avanti House in the final by 39 runs.
Recovering from 2-2, Perkin posted 162-5 thanks to 69 not out from Lucas Smith and 63 from Viren Nain. In reply, Avanti House made it to 123-8, never really looking in the hunt despite at one point being 53-1. Arjan Nahar took 3-19 for William Perkin.
Avanti House is also a state school and defeated strong sides from the likes of Merchant Taylors and Highgate en-route to the final.
