Ramsbottom Women made Lancashire League history last weekend as they became the first all-female team to play in the competition, kicking off their groundbreaking campaign with a win over Accrington 3XI by six wickets.
Batting first, Accrington reached 157-9 from their 40 overs with Waleed Majeed top scoring with 63 and Dilshan Fernando making 50. Shriya Pindoria finished with figures of 5-34 from eight overs, while skipper Maeve Jones took 2-37.
In the chase, an unbeaten 47 from Grace Johnson and 37 from Jones got Ramsbottom over the line with 2.4 overs to spare.
