National U17 Boys Cup underway with Shrewsbury looking for a three-peat

The Cricket Paper National Under 17 Boys Cup has kicked off for the 2024 season with Shrewsbury School looking to go back-to-back-to-back.

The defending champions will face the winner of Stockport Grammar School versus Wirral Grammar School in the first official round after the prelims.

Last year’s second place school Winchester will face Marlborough College after Ryde School conceded their preliminary round fixture.

Other notable results include Bedford School defeating Oundle School by seven wickets thanks to 75 from Danny Chapman, while Henry Snow hit 101 for Harrow in their 147-run win over Gordon’s School.

Up in Yorkshire, St Peter’s School York smashed Bradford side Woodhouse Grove School by 179 runs, and in Hertfordshire Parkview Academy of Sport cruised past Loretto School by 279 runs.
