A STRONGER police presence has been called for by Droitwich Cricket Club after the Worcestershire club’s facilities were damaged by vandals.
The panels of the club’s sight screen and a catching cradle were hit during the attack which was described as ‘minor but mindless’ by club chairman James Hancher.
“Being located in the park and a conservation area, we’re expected to maintain appearances but we need the authorities to support us – perhaps by providing more patrols and wider use of CCTV in this part of the town,” he said.
