TEENAGER Ollie Lovejoy struck his first Colchester century at the perfect time for his club, but now captain Jake Foley is hopeful this is just the beginning of his success.
Lovejoy was in fluent form hitting an unbeaten 114 in the Shepherd Neame Essex Premier League match with Southend On Sea & EMT, with 12 fours and a six despite batting at seven.
That helped the hosts recover from 32-5 to make 231-8 in 50 overs, leaving the skipper hopeful this can be the start of a special season for the 19-year-old.
