COTTINGHAM are bubbling with new ideas to get more women playing the game.
The villagers, who are based near Hull, are holding a women’s softball festival on July 9 at the Roy Waudby Sports Arena, and have come up with a novel incentive for attendees giving cricket a go.
Any fizzing deliveries that take place on the day will be accompanied by free glasses of Prosecco and with plenty of refreshment breaks planned, Yorkshire Cricket Board development manager Joe Ashdown is hoping that the event will sparkle as much as the drinks on offer.
