HEATHER Knight is now a World Cup winner, so it’s no surprise that her old club, Plymstock, have implored the opener to come home and aid their relegation fight.
Plymstock are currently bottom of the Devon Cricket League A Division, but were given the perfect respite from a tough season as Knight – who started at the club as an under- 11 and went on to play for the men’s first XI – skippered England to glory earlier this month. And chairman Malcolm Orchard insists the 26-year-old was destined for greatness from day one.
