CLIFTON have pulled off a major coup by getting former England captain Andrew Strauss to open their new pavilion.
Strauss, who guided England to Ashes glory in 2009 and 2011, has agreed to cut the ribbon at the new facility in Derbyshire on September 21.
The new pavilion has been up and running since the start of the new season – Clifton’s 150th year – but the club have been looking for a big name to perform the opening.
