A WELSH Cricket Club has said it will ‘stand together’ after receiving a huge backlash for a controversial declaration that denied their rivals any chance of winning the league title.
Carew faced Cresselly in the final match of the season holding a 21-point advantage as the Pembroke Country Cricket Club division title looked to be going down to the wire.
Having been put in to bat, Carew opted to declare after just 2.3 overs on 18-1, meaning their opponents could not gain any batting or bowling bonus points which they needed to overhaul the table toppers.
