BUR & Exning chairman Wayne Hardy is confident both teams made the right decision this winter to join forces ahead of the new season.
The newly-formed team made the perfect start to life in the East Anglian Premier League, downing Horsford by 121 runs after Paul Summerskill smashed 143 off 116 deliveries.
Jamie Seabrook was the pick of the bowlers as he took 5-27 to help skittle out Horsford for just 160.
Just three miles apart, home games will be divided equally between Burwell’s ground in Mingay Park and Exning’s in Cotton End Road.
