History for Sehmi at partner’s expense

THE WHOLE of Toft rose to applaud Rob Sehmi on his club record innings of 173 – except, perhaps, his batting partner.
The 21-year-old broke a record set by Rob Jones in 2016 and the number three batsman had the best possible view of the brutal knock against Neston, lasting 134 balls with 23 fours.
Jones – whose undefeated 165 against Chester Boughton Hall two years ago was surpassed by his partner – shared a 144-run stand with Sehmi in the Cheshire Premier League victory.
