A RAMPAGING batsman purportedly took the Lancashire Knockout Cup too literally – by allegedly headbutting the bowler who had just dismissed him. Eccleston’s first-round clash with Rainhill was brought to a premature end midway through the visitors’ innings. Having been caught out, the Rainhill player, who has been suspended indefinitely, is alleged to have clashed with the Eccleston bowler as tempers flared.
