POLITICIANS aren’t exactly the flavour of the month but one MP bucked the trend by inviting his local cricket club to Westminster.
James Morris, member for Halesowen & Rowley Regis, extended an offer for Halesowen to visit the House of Commons and then pit their wits against centuries-old Lords and Commons Cricket Club.
With Boris Johnson, a member of the Commons club, otherwise engaged, the politicians fell to an 85-run defeat to the Birmingham and District League outfit at Chiswick House.
“Sport is a big part of Halesowen and Rowley Regis,” said Morris.
