AJAZ Patel’s journey from promising young quick to Test match-winning spinner involved a summer in rural Surrey.
So when the possibility of a return to club cricket in England arose this summer, there was only one place Patel wanted to play – Cranleigh Cricket Club.
The 30-year-old, born in India before moving to New Zealand at the age of eight, had previously spent a season at Cranleigh back in 2010 when he was in the process of converting from fast bowling to spin.
