How’s Matt! Cheadle hit the summit

CHEADLE captain Matt Goodwin claims he was always optimistic of the victory at Moddershall & Oulton that sent his side top of the North Staffs and South Cheshire Premier Division table, despite the need for some late heroics.
A ninth-wicket stand of 45 saw Cheadle recover from 83-8 to post a defendable total of 133 all out.
Goodwin said: “We would have liked maybe 20 more but at the halfway stage we were quite confident of winning.”
