Rankin reaps rewards of youth policy at Ormskirk

ORMSKIRK’S Robert Rankin believes being thrown in at the deep end has made him a better player after the 19-yearold hit his maiden century in the Love Lane Liverpool Premier Division.
Rankin hit an unbeaten 107 in a nine-wicket win against Rainhill, while playing alongside his brothers Alex and Gary.
Rainhill declared at 220- 5 but Ormskirk won after making 222-1 in a game that saw them leapfrog their opponents into fifth.
