Schools bid for national glory in U17 cup

The first round of The Cricket Paper National Boys U17 Cup got underway with many of the country’s top schools in action. There were first round wins for the likes of St Peter’s School, York (the former school of Jonny Bairstow), as well as Stowe, once home to England opener Ben Duckett.
This year’s crop of players will be looking to emulate last year’s champions Shrewsbury School, who defeated Canterbury at Loughborough University last September.
