Not many bowlers playing in the sixth tier of the Essex League have 231 international wickets to their name. Well, one does: Chelmsford’s Andre Nel.
The former South African international, now 45, joined Chelmsford at the start of the month and made his debut for the club’s second XI in their recent 75-run loss to Upminster.
Opening the bowling, Nel finished with 0-22 from seven overs and then made 23 from 19 balls batting at five.
