Surrey off-spinner Amar Virdi took another seven-wicket haul as he continued his remarkable run of form for Sunbury in the Surrey Championship.
Opening the bowling, Virdi took 7-81 from 23.3 overs to help dismiss Guildford for 172, including the wicket of Aussie overseas and Melbourne Renegades Big Bash player Jonathan Merlo.
However, it wasn’t enough for Sunbury to take the win as they were blown away for just 66 thanks to 7-23 from Guildford skipper Oliver Birts. It’s not often a bowler takes seven-for and ends up on the losing side.
