NORTHOP have gone top of the North Wales Premier League after coming out victorious in their top-two clash with St Asaph.
On a wet day at Elwy Grove Park, Northop won the toss and elected to bat and quickly found themselves in trouble at 1-2 with Thomas Hughes and Marlon Barclay back in the hutch in quick succession for 0 and 1 respectively.
Henry Dowd (28) and Ben Beaver (39) staged a recovery, adding 54 for the third wicket before the former was dismissed by Matthew Ryan.
