THERE were 613 runs scored at The Grange last Saturday as Spondon beat Ticknall by 33 runs in the Derbyshire League.
Opening batter Mitchell Wagstaff scored a sparkling 171 not out, carrying his bat, as Spondon racked up 323-2 from their 50 overs.
There was also a 54-ball 74 from Archie Harrison and 59 from skipper Alistair Dixon as the Ticknall bowlers toiled away without much luck.
In reply, Ticknall were bowled out for 290 in the 48th over. Their captain, ex-Derbyshire man Greg Cork, son of former England bowler Dominic, scored 114 from 98 balls, including six maximums.
