Thomas Rew, the younger brother of Somerset’s new batting star James Rew, scored a rapid 78 for Taunton St Andrews 1st XI in the West of England Premier League last weekend.
Thomas is still only 15 years of age but is following in his brother’s footsteps with bat in hand and flourishing into a fine young talent.
Bedminster batted first in the fixture and made a decent fist of things, 204-9 from 31 overs in a reduced game, thanks mainly to 55 from Ollie Meadows at the top of the order, but with a required run rate of 6.58 Taunton St Andrews were always facing an uphill battle.
