CRANLEIGH kept themselves in the hunt for a spot in the Surrey Championship Premier Division next season, while dragging rivals Normandy further into a relegation battle.
Cranleigh were on 85 points heading into the match, 21 points behind ninth-placed Ashtead (106) and 38 behind the Normans in eighth.
With 20 points available, Cranleigh knew that beating Normandy was essential for survival and they gave themselves the best possible start, reducing them to 27-4 when Chris Booth and Chris Jones were joined at the crease.
