CUCKNEY, of the Nottinghamshire Premier League, defeated Kent’s Bexley by virtue of losing fewer wickets as the sides tied the final of the ECB National Club Championship at Lord’s.
Chasing 220 to win, skipper Thomas Ullyott and Josh Porter scrambled a two off the final delivery of the match to equal Bexley’s score of 219 and take the title.
Cuckney needed nine to win from the last over but knew eight would be enough as they’d lost five wickets as opposed to Bexley’s nine.
