ON A WARM and humid day at Loughborough University, Shrewsbury School became the first side in the history of the competition to retain the The Cricket Paper National U17 Boys Cup.
After defeating Repton in a pulsating semi-final, the Salopians faced a Winchester College side with the best win percentage in schools cricket during the 2023 season.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, Theo Wylie crashed five boundaries in a rapid 24 before being bowled by Alex Claisse as the white ball moved lavishly.
