CAPTAIN Alex Hughes smashed a sensational century as Swarkestone rounded off their title-winning campaign in the Derbyshire League with a nine-wicket victory.
The former Derbyshire all-rounder blasted 107 not out from 79 balls, hitting 10 fours and seven sixes as his side chased down Alvaston & Boulton’s total of 165-8.
Hughes shared a stand of 139 for the first wicket with Andre Bradford as the champions eased home.
