HADDENHAM CAPTAIN Joel Cliffe played an incredible if not slightly surreal rearguard innings to secure his side a draw in their Cherwell League clash with Long Marston.
Coming in at number three, Cliffe made 1 not out from 116 balls to well and truly blunt the Long Marston bowling.
Ali Hasham top scored for Haddenham with 68 after Peter Toovey made 105 in Long Marston’s total of 257-6 declared, but Cliffe’s knock proved to be the most memorable innings of the match as he well and truly dug in to end with a strike rate of 0.86.
