FORMER WEST Indies batter Kirk Edwards turned out for North Wheatley with Leverton in the Championship division of the Bassetlaw & District League, scoring a half-century as Wheatley secured a 68-run win against Cuckney second XI.
In the country having played for West Indies Champions in the recent World Championship of Legends, Edwards, 39, was called in as a replacement overseas by Wheatley skipper Tom Waterfield who he’d previously played with in the Bassetlaw & District League for Retford in 2016.
