Derbyshire side score 21 in 45 overs

THERE WAS a bizarre draw in Division 9 South of the Derbyshire League last weekend as Darley Abbey fourth XI batted out 45 overs to post just 21 runs.
They finished on 21-4 in reply to Mickleover third XI’s 271-4, opening batter Ian Bestwick carrying his bat for 0 not out from 137 balls. During his incredibly stubborn innings, Bestwick was bowled by Dan Heaton from a no-ball. Nicholas Cutting made 0 not out from 34 balls for Darley Abbey for good measure, while Ian’s son Thomas made four runs from 71.
