AFTER FINISHING runners-up in 2023, Rothley Park went one better this season, taking the Leicestershire & Rutland League championship by a margin of 31 points.
In their final game of the campaign they defeated Oakham by 63 runs, posting 312-9 and then bowling the opposition out for 249.
Vikai Kelley hit 66 for Rothley Park and Chris Baker took 4-26 for Oakham. Harry Funnell (46 off 31) and Dieter Klein 37 off 24) combined for a stand of 86 for the seventh wicket to propel Rothley Park to a total past 300.
